The Anniversary

Your majestic golden wings unfold,
glistering under the rainbow of sunlight.
It’s a worldly beauty to behold
which stirs my soul on the first sight.

You cut through my dark storm clouds,
reminding me of love’s unspoken vows.
My goddess – in my heart’s shrine you do reside,
garlanded, you smile like my beautiful bride.

Leaving behind old footprints you've discovered a land new,
  which lays untouched and barren.
The prophecy proclaims that it would be you,
who trades life into me like a baron.

You are to me,
what a tide is to the sea.
Inducing all the vital signs,
giving me a breath, heartbeat and spine.

Poets do not make poems muses do,
and today my love, my muse is you-
The muse of my life’s story,
the reward of my mortal glory.
