The Chronicles Of Chitrangada Part III { Condensation }

She lay on the grassy bed sewn with flowers,
and reminisced of her encounters in the nightly hours.
His thought couldn’t escape her even in her dreams,
as her love for him had reached all extremes.
Resistance she could not put up any more,
as all this time away from him turned her pretty sore.
Patience was escaping her through her slippery fingers,
His sight, his voice, his smell and touch in her memory lingers.

In her dreams he was with her,
united they were forever,
No vows to keep nor promises made,
all the lines and walls did fade
under true love’s leafy shade
one needed the other for their life’s aid.

Yet Chitra’s dilemma continued in vain
which let her happy fantasies drain.
Her beauty was a blessed curse,
the idea of sacrificing herself was one she could not nurse.
A sea of sorrow she cried and wept,
for the cupid’s magic was false and inept
to give her the peace of mind she craved,
after all the chaos and pain she braved.

She resolved to tell Arjun the truth,
and was ready to give up her youth.
She was ready to reveal here disguise,
and take a risk for purgatory or paradise.
And if Arjun was to reject her true self,
she would mourn in silence for herself.
