When cupid’s arrow strikes the prince,
Love for a fair maiden is born in him since,
the maiden was a beauty unlike any he had ever seen,
and conquered his tender heart like an anonymous queen.
She was so surreal and so dreamlike,
that even day and night in her beauty seemed alike.

Reality was his wake up call,
as Chitra dressed as the prince’s dream doll,
had appeared right in front of him,
making the angels in his mind sing a holy hymn.
The maiden came to offer her prayers she said,
where he was resting under the temple shed.
Offered her devotion to Shiva for the ideal husband,
the prince of house of Kurus – who was one in thousand.

Arjun with his heart racing and pacing,
confesses that it was he who she in her prayers had been chasing,
But Chitra was confused about Arjun’s reaction,
Why was he talking of breaking his vow now?
What was the reason of such a sudden attraction?
“Is it only my looks that matter to thou?”

Chitra is disappointed at her hero’s
deed,
but also to her a strange happiness meets.
Arjun had fallen for her visual that met his eyes,
but the question remained - was it love or a naïve lie?
She refrained herself from her lover’s embrace,
because the realization that this wasn’t her face,
made it clear in her mind,
that she wanted him to himself find,
and fall in love with the person Chitra always had been,
not this person who she had even in the mirror never seen.
