The story so far... (1000 Page Views Special) [Part -2]

Family- a word which defines relationship thicker than just blood and bones. Family consists of people you are born with, and the people you gather along your journey of life… However, we love them all the same. I was born in a family of 5 on 22nd April 1997. My mother, father, grandmother, grandfather and aunt (Pishi) were more than happy to welcome an addition to the family which was considerably small in comparison to large extended families in Bengal. We used to stay in the spacious 3BHK flat located near VIP road in Kolkata. As a child, I don’t remember being intensively notorious or being irritable. Although, I do remember instances when in the afternoon I escaped from my grandfather’s grasp while he fell asleep narrating ‘Ramayan’. I also remember being very controlled towards my temptations of toys and other flashy items which other kids nagged about… Not blowing my own trumpet, but it’s a trait I have retained as a 17 year old. However, there was that one thing I craved for was the tent of bed sheet my grandfather used to make me. Going in and out of it gave me a happiness which was unparalleled and unfortunately in the grasp of time which I could not carry forward as I grew up. The “egg rolls” my grandmother used to make me was more delicious than a 3 course meal at a 5 star restaurant. Watching “Popeye” and “The Road Runner Show” with my aunt was my favorite hobby. My Parents tell me that the only thing constant in life is change. I find reason in that statement, as what I loved then, I cannot love now. As strange as it is, it is the bitter truth we all go through, in time we become accustomed to the bitterness of the fact and it becomes a part of our life. Aged 5, my father was transferred to a place called “Ahmedabad”. It was a place outside my little world which I had come to know in the five years of my existence. It was somewhere distant … Somewhere too far away, another world. I was devoid of understanding so much at such a young age, So all I knew was that we were going far away from my family , my world, Somewhere to an alien planet called “Ahmedabad”.
