A full circle: Moving out

I created this blog back in 2012, 7 years ago, when I was still in school and hoped to become, at some capacity, a writer or a poet.

Since then I have acquired an Honours degree in English literature, Post-Graduate degree in Journalism and began working in one of the country's leading newspapers - The Hindu.

These things are important only so much so that they give you a certain social currency - the world around you approves of you as a productive adult who is spending his time doing things that he should be.

At some point, you need to ask yourself what is important, and who you are. In the last four years, I've won a few competitions, launched a college magazine, got published in an anthology and started work towards a poetry chapbook -- everything that indicates I am on my way to fulfilling my dream of becoming a writer. 

However, as things catch up with you, you realize that you have not been doing enough. This blog had been one of my earliest writing endeavors, something I will always be proud of. Things going forward have been changing and I am constantly learning and evolving. 

Blogger has been a wonderful platform, but I couldn't help but notice how limited it had become - the falling readership and limitations of the interface. This blog needed revival. 

I am therefore moving this blog to Wordpress, and relaunching it as 'antiquiescence' - the antidote to dormancy, the opposite of silence. 

The older posts will still be available on the new blog, but as you will notice, my writing and the way I do it has come a long way. I only hope to bring to you what I know and what I think deserves to be read. I hope you'll join me on this journey and continue the support and love that I have been feeling throughout the years.
